Frequently asked questions
If you don’t see your question here, send us your dates and interests and we’ll reply with a clear recommendation.
Manu or Tambopata: which destination should I choose?
Choose Manu for habitat variety (Andes → cloud forest → Amazon) and a more expedition-style journey.
Choose Tambopata for easier logistics, lodge-based comfort, and famous macaw clay licks.
Tell us your dates and interests and we’ll recommend the best fit.
What is the best time of year to visit the Peruvian rainforest?
The rainforest can be visited year-round. Many travelers prefer the drier months (roughly May–October)
for trail and travel conditions. The wetter months (roughly November–April) are greener with fewer crowds,
but rain can affect travel times. We help you choose the best route for your season.
How many days do I need for a jungle tour?
2–3 days is a quick taste. 4–6 days gives better wildlife opportunities and a calmer pace.
10 days is best for dedicated birdwatching and deeper exploration. In general: more habitat time = better chances.
Can you guarantee wildlife sightings?
We can’t guarantee specific animals because wildlife is wild. What we do guarantee is experienced guiding, strong habitats,
and a schedule designed around peak activity (especially early mornings).
Is it safe to travel to Manu or Tambopata?
Yes—when traveling with a professional team and following guide instructions. We include safety briefings and make conservative
decisions around weather and river/road conditions.
Do I need vaccines or malaria tablets?
Health needs depend on your route and medical profile. Many travelers consult a travel clinic about yellow fever vaccination
and malaria prevention for Amazon areas. We recommend you speak with a medical professional for current guidance.
What should I pack for a Peru rainforest tour?
Pack light: long sleeves/pants, comfortable walking shoes, rain jacket/poncho, insect repellent, sunscreen,
a refillable bottle, and a headlamp for night walks. Binoculars are highly recommended.
We send a detailed packing list after booking.
What kind of accommodation is included?
Accommodation depends on your itinerary and comfort level—typically eco-lodges or lodge-style rainforest stays.
Each tour page lists what’s included, and we can suggest upgrades when available.
Are meals included? Can you handle dietary restrictions?
Most tours include meals during the program (as shown on your tour page). We can often support vegetarian options and some
dietary restrictions with advance notice. For allergies or strict diets, contact us before booking so we can confirm.
Do tours start from Cusco or Puerto Maldonado?
Many Manu tours start from Cusco. Most Tambopata tours start from
Puerto Maldonado. We can also create a combined itinerary (Cusco + jungle) as one plan.
What group size will I be traveling with?
We offer small groups and private departures depending on the date and tour. Small groups are better for wildlife viewing and
lower impact. Private guiding is available on request.
Will I have electricity, Wi‑Fi, or cell signal in the rainforest?
It varies. Some lodges have limited electricity schedules and intermittent Wi‑Fi; remote areas may have none.
Cell signal can be weak or unavailable. Bring a power bank if you need extra battery.
How physically demanding are the tours?
Most trips are moderate: walks on forest trails, heat/humidity, and early mornings. We can adjust pace and recommend the best
itinerary if you have mobility concerns—tell us your comfort level.
How do booking, deposits, and payments work?
We confirm availability first, then send a clear quote and booking steps (deposit and payment options).
Message us with your dates, group size, and preferred tour.
